High Point Transitions
Virginia Macali is the founder and president of High Point Transitions in Columbus, Ohio. For the past nine years, she has provided consulting, facilitation and coaching to government, business, education and non-profit organizations. Through her leadership guidance, she teaches her clients to cultivate effective customer relations and build upon their own professional development.

Prior to starting her own company, Virginia vested nine years with the Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) and served in many capacities. Most recently as a problem resolution officer, she designed and coordinated small business seminars and developed educational materials for small business owners. She also arbitrated unresolved and legal issues for businesses and individuals and coordinated a 13-state regional tax conference.

Her other roles with the ODT included serving as an administrator in the Estate Tax Division where she directed all administrative functions and coordinated activities with probate courts, county auditors, and the Office of the Attorney General. She additionally served as an attorney within the Division of Tax Equalization, conducting legal hearings with taxpayers on property tax issues. Virginia was also a legislative liaison where she researched and analyzed legislative tax policy issues, testified at pertinent committee hearings, and aided tax administrators to develop better tax legislation.

Virginia also holds to her credit a past history with Pete O’Grady & Associates as a legislative consultant; served as a legislative intern for the Ohio Legislative Commission of Ohio; and handled public inquiries with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. She also was an adjunct professor at Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio.

Her educational background is as diverse and strong-suited as her many skills. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University; a Master’s degree in counseling/education from the University of Dayton; and holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Capital University Law School. Virginia also became a certified integral coach and coaching to excellence certified leader through New Ventures West, as well as a master facilitator through Sixth Discipline Facilitation Center.

She further served as president of the International Coach Federation - Central Ohio Chapter, president of Netcare Foundation, facilitator of the Gifford Leadership Academy, and a coach in the Ohio State University School of Public Policy.

Virginia specializes in professional development, training seminars, designing and facilitating retreats, facilitating group processes and executive coaching, and has authored published articles on achieving work/life balance for professionals. She offers consultation in the areas of leadership development, communication, change management and balance.
