Currently, Barbara serves as an advisor in Strategic Enrollment Management at Columbus State Community College. She develops, creates, implements and evaluates campus-wide retention initiatives. By utilizing change management and strategic planning, Barbara organizes consultation workshops focusing on the five core issues of Columbus State’s strategic plan and vision: customer service, stewardship, communication, information gathering and student success.

Her many service roles at Columbus State include taking part in such affiliations as: Welcome Team co-chair, Rat Pack member, Learner’s Success Forum for Faculty and Staff coordinator, Campus liaison, Team Toolbox coordinator, Orientation facilitator, Student Ambassador coordinator, MBTI facilitator and Conversation Partners coordinator. She also designed a communication portfolio for campus-wide distribution for consulting projects and assisted with the campus-wide quarterly publication, the Communique’.

Barbara currently serves as adjunct professor and tutor at Columbus State Community College, designing and teaching communication classes for the Communication Skills Department. She remains an active member of many service groups at Columbus State including: LeaderShape, Graduation Ceremony volunteer and Student Activities volunteer.

Formerly, Barbara held the position of director of marketing at Goettler Associates and was responsible for the overall marketing efforts for the fund raising counsel, including the coordination of new and former client cultivation and database growth, development of strategies for prospective management and execution of direct mail campaigns. She also served as an outreach coordinator and admissions counselor at The Ohio State University, and summer orientation leader at Miami University.

Barbara is currently enrolled at The Ohio State University as a Ph.D. candidate, focusing on educational policy and leadership. She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in speech and communication from Miami University. Barbara also spent time in England as a student intern in the Office of Continuing Education at Lancaster University.
